Dira2 is a database system to manage Astronomical Catalogues developed from 1984 by Astronet Database Group - Italy . The system contain now about 280 astronomical catalogues. DIRA2 can be accessed using these Web forms , where a subset of the commands are defined, or importing the dira2 software on your computer to manage catalogues selected from database and personal tables.

Search for available catalogues (DB_Info)

    You can retrieve information regarding the catalogues in the database and get the names of catalogues in DIRA2 system starting from common name, bibliographic notes, authors, type of objects.

Search through available documentation

    You can retrieve information regarding the catalogues and their documentations.
Select data from a sky region defined by boundaries (DB Select)

    You can extract fields from a catalogue selecting only the records that satisfy the wanted constraints in a sky region defined by RA and DEC boundaries. You will get a output table or a FITS file.
Select data inside a sky zone defined by center field (DB Placo)
    You can extract fields from a catalogue selecting only the records that satisfy the wanted constraints in a sky region defined by center field and size. You will get a output table, a FITS file or a postscript map
Identify objects, by coordinates, on all (or on a group of) catalogues (DB_Ident)

    With this command you can search on all the catalogues, or on a group of them, to get the objects that are inside a sky region defined by center field and size.
Download catalogs (DB_Download)

    With this command you can download catalogs.

Get DIRA package for various platforms.

    With this link you can download the D.I.R.A.2 package for your machine. Supported platforms (as precompiled binary) are : VMS, SUN(Solaris, Sun OS), DEC-Alpha, Linux
