Personal Data Base.

The personal Data Base (PDB) is a structure conceptually identical to the system data base, but under the complete responsibility of the single user. This means, in practice, that the Data Base Administrator of a PDB is the user himself.

The structure of the PDB has been implemented in DIRA2 to satisfy two requirements. First of all, to allow the user to use on his own files or tables or lists all the command/routines without having to insert such data in the system data base. Secondly to make the use of DIRA2 commands more general. Often, the data on which user wants to work are a subset of a catalogue. In this case it is wise to effect the first extraction operation of data and put them in the PDB; then the user can work with all the commands on the data in the private area.
