One can start to work with DIRA2 using the standard setup values of the environment, or one can adapt these values to the devices that he uses frequently. When a command starts, it tries to open a file called SETUP.PDB in user's current directory.
In this file the user can set the values of some keys :
These keys define the default type of graphic and alphanumerical devices that one will use in DIRA2 session, the directory of the PDB (if nothing is defined the PDB must be in the current directory) and the physical name of a tape unit or a mountable disk that one can use to load the catalogues when there are on mountable media. This file is not essential, and if it is not found, the values defined by the Data Base Administrator of the site are used.
