To convert a fixed record length file in a variable record length one.

DIRA can use file with variable or fixed record length. But on a VAX/VMS operating system the user can not modify file with fixed length record appending new fields. This task reads a fixed record length file and writes it as a variable record length. After an edit session the user can fix the file with the command DB_FIXA.

In a unix system this command is useless.

This task does not require that the file is inserted in a PDB structure.

INPUT FIELDS of the command:

Input File name:

The name of the input file with fixed length records.

Example : FILE1.DAT

Output File name:

The name of the output file that will have variable length records.

Example : FILE2.DAT
